The Hellsing Movie IN MY MIND

Watching Solomon Kane reminded me how much I missed my dose of Hellsing. Because the lead actor reminded me of Hugh Jackman who starred on my less preferred version of Abraham van Helsing in the movie Van Helsing, a character who plays a vital role in Bram Stoker’s famous horror novel Dracula. Dracula is also the titular character and the main anti-hero of Kohta Hirano’s manga Hellsing (see the connection there).  He just had a cooler name, Alucard.

For so long I wondered why they haven’t touched Hellsing (Hirano’s version, see the 2 ‘L’s) to be adapted in a featured live action film while I see Hollywood movies like Dragonball, Speed Racer, Blood . . . oh wait.

Well, now that I looked back, Hollywood also made a bunch of crappy films about Japanese games. (that’s not exactly a ground breaking good news if you've watched Street Fighter, Tekken, DOA, King of Fighters etc.) And the main reason probably goes to the casting of actors and their roles. Like them playing Asians despite being Caucasians. And secondly were the writers, who thought that they could make an adaptation better if they make their wildest fanfiction come true on screen.
Whatever happened to sticking to the main plot and main characters? (although a few make it big like Resident Evil, but that is an exception.) I guess they should just stop using and buying the rights of the said titles if they are just going to do it halfway. Just waste of money and time.

I just don’t even understand.

And why Guile is the main guy in Street Fighter while Ken and Ryu were just a bunch of clowns.

?!?
Why not just adapt Games and Anime that already have Caucasian characters in it? Which brings us back to Hellsing. I’ve seen what a bunch of directors can do with their visual effects like in Sucker Punch and Scott Pilgrim. I wish that they could at least do these with their adaptations.

And probably this is how I’ll do the casting.
In Hellsing we get Alucard, our main guy.

In the manga Alucard manifests many forms.

a gender confused kid, a lunatic, and a corpse.

His kid version, I chose that kid from the Omen remake. Just put on a nice wig because the soul piercing eyes are already given.

His middle aged version could be any of these two, Stuart Townsend (Queen of the Damned) and Jonathan Rhys Meyers (Shelter, Tudors) respectively. Though I prefer the latter and hoped he knows how to wield guns.

And for his more mature form we could always have this guy to play this part. (yeah, I know. Who would have thought.)

And this.

For Walter. These are what I have in mind.
Young/Dark Walter

Old Walter, Ian Mckellen fits the bill.

(runner ups goes to Sean Connery and Alan Rickman)

For Paladin Anderson. . . (I’d totally like Liev Schreiber for that role but he’s better off as Hans)
So we have Gerard Butler. You know who would not like to hear him yell:

This is Iscariot!!!

And for Seras Victoria, Jena Malone is my bet. (minus Seras’ boob job of course.)

John Billingsley annoys me when he plays a character, then I thought why not play the annoying villain Major Montana?

For Rip I nominate PJ Harvey.  The best part of it is that she could sing...

 ...and play rock guitar.

I have two characters in mind for Noomi Rapace (Girl with Dragon Tattoo) because she could either play Heinkel or Zorin. But she’s better as Heinkel, in many levels.

Lastly as for Integra Hellsing (my favourite character btw), there are just a few that could make this character believable. One of which I know is Daryl Hannah (Kill Bill, Final Days of the Planet Earth).

However, she is twenty years late. And underwent the knife. Which led to this.

But suddenly I remember Grandma Integra which perfectly fits her.

Deeper

When you compare things it is important to know which came first. A lot of us forget about chronology when making reviews and comparisons especially when we watch a bunch of shows. It's easier for us to discredit them in reviews, give them low ratings etc.

Such is the case of Samurai Deeper Kyo. But first I must say that the foremost samurai related anime that I've ever watch is Rurouni Kenshin. I can simply grade it one of the best of its genre. At that time, I think it can only be rivaled by Hiroaki Samura's Blade of the Immortal but too bad it made its debut on screen more than a decade late.

Now back to Samurai Deeper Kyo. It has its unique way of telling the story of the samurai era. Here we have Kyoshiro Mibu a wandering medicine retailer who is kind (and probably had a troubling past)but in his body lies a menacing soul named Demon Eyes Kyo.

So what am I looking here?

Akimine Kamijyo's SDK manga ran from October 1999 to May 2006. It has its anime on 2002 and ended in the same year.
Kubo Tite's Bleach manga ran from August 2001 up to this day. It's anime started on 2006 and I promise you it wouldn't end soon.

Whether it was intentional, coincidental or just a tribute I couldn't help but notice something.

look at this clip.

First is the character of Kyoshiro Mibu / Demon Eyes Kyo, we are all familiar with double personalities, evil twins, and inner demons and so is Ichigo Kurosaki's hollow. From the ending song of Samurai Deeper Kyo notice how Kyo's stance while holding the sword, Kyo's black kimono and the long flowy skirt at the very end of the song resonates Ichigo of Bleach. (even his Shibien, the Black Sword.) I've seen SDK first and when I watched Bleach no wonder why I felt deja vu.

Benitora, Renji and Gin

Second is Benitora, a character who travels alongside with Kyo. He is that guy with the red striped bandanna on his head. As I recall Bleach also has that ever smiley character named Gin and the guy who has a tattoo on his forehead Renji. Yukimura Sanada's character can also be attributed to that of Gin.

Next is Yuya Shiina. She had a brother who died and travels along with Kyo to find the killer. The two leading ladies of Bleach, namely Rukia and Orihime also has a SAD past regarding a male loved one.

Also is Sarutobi Sasuke, that small ninja boy under Sanada's care. If you look at him you know I'm going to compare him to Toshiro Hitsugaya.

There are lots more like Okuni and her similarities to Matsumoto. But I think you get the idea.

Though it may not change the fact that you hate Samurai Deeper Kyo and adore Bleach or vice versa. It may also help to give others an idea how the genre evolved and who came first with the idea. Even I believed that there are stuff that influenced SDK before it became popular. Such things we need to take in mind before we punch in that review or comment button.

HEAT

The weather. Is. Excruciating. My love for ice cream deepens as the temperature escalates upward. But my stomach chose to be lactose intolerant. Oh, heat how I loathe thee.

Speaking of weather and heat, remember that show Gungrave? To put it simply, it's an anime mash-up of Godfather, Desperado and Terminator.
It has been bothering me why they named the lead character Brandon Heat. That guy who died and rose up from the dead through technological and scientific necromancy to pursue his revenge to those who wronged him.

Yeah, that guy.

Anyone remembered The Crow from 1994? If yes, maybe some of you noticed some creepy similarity between the two.

If not let me give some light.

okay... maybe not.

The Crow stars the lead actor Brandon Lee (Bruce Lee's son, pictured on the left) who played Eric Draven. His character died (both in reel and real life). He was then resurrected by The Crow, the paranormal creature who raises people from the grave whether by their strong need to get revenge or their desire to claim justice. Eric after being resurrected become somewhat immortal as long as the Crow lives.

Damn good show I'd say.

And sharing the same first name? Coincidence?

Sounds like a tribute to me.

 Brandon Heat: Oh, hey, ladies.

Gungrave is being compared to other anime such as Trigun and Hellsing due to its affinity with GUNS.

The troubling question for the day now is:

Whose gun is bigger from the aforementioned anime series?

Is it
a.) Brandon Heat's Cerberus
b.) Vash the Stampede's Modified .45 Caliber Mateba AutoRevolver, or
c.) Alucard's Jackal

What is this?

In a world of blogs full of anime reviews, bias opinions, pirated dvds, fap materials and inane denizens here comes another blog of the same shit. However not all says the same thing about a certain anime so this is what this page is for.

Why Star Gentle Uterus?
The term came from the attack of Sailor Star Maker from Sailor Moon Sailor Stars (nostalgia bomb hurrhurr). For ages, I wonder why it's called that. Then I remember that she's Star Maker, from the word "MAKER". It's like asking "hey, mother, how are babies made? Where?" Then that's where the UTERUS comes in. But I don't know what's the connection with stars and why it's called an attack.
If you're asking what's the relevance to the site, I don't know either. I just like the sound of it.

What will you write about?
It's probably what I ate this morning. But you'll know what else will be here once I started posting some other stuffs. mmkay?
